Kory Lee
Kory
moved to the Grand Rapids area in 1997 and quickly joined WCET helping
with play-by-play for Grandville, Jenison, Hudsonville and Calvin
Christian High School games. From
1997-2000, he worked at 104.5 WSNX and WOOD 1300 announcing Griffins
hockey.
Currently
he's announcing hockey for Western Michigan University (listen at www.wmubroncos.com
).
He
finished 3rd in The Grand Rapids Magazine Funniest Person Joke-Off at
Dr. Grin's Comedy Club in October of 1999. In Kory's spare time, he
likes to play sports such as softball and hockey. His favorite hockey
teams are the U of N. Dakota (1997 & 2000 NCAA Division 1
Champions), and of course The Broncos of Western Michigan.
Wedding Bells for Kory in June 2001. He found Angie, a nice Dutch woman
from Jenison, shortly after moving to the area.
Kory donated a kidney to his brother in 2004.
He would like to thank WCET, WCET viewers, and the Jenison hockey
team for the assistance they provided during the difficult time for his
family.
If
you’re interested in announcing sports as a hobby or career, Kory
can help you get started by assisting him on WCET-TV. We are always
looking for volunteers, and many of our announcers have moved on to be
apart major sporting events. Plus you'll get into WCET-TV games for
free!
